One thing many online business owners find most challenging about Internet marketing is sustaining their profits. In the beginning, profits are often inconsistent. I know, because I’ve been there before. And ‘inconsistent’ often means profits which are consistently low! Here are 5 things you can start doing today to increase your online profits:
1. Brand yourself
You may think that branding is not applicable to a small business owner on the Internet. Wrong! Every business has a brand, either created deliberately or by accident. You want your brand to be congruent with the image you want your business to project. How do customers view your business? What separates you from your competitors? A good book on branding is ‘Think Two Products Ahead’ by Ben Mack. I just read it not too long ago and it’s a great starting point for branding your business.
2. Increase your marketing reach
Find more ways to market yourself or/and your business. If you’re a freelancer, spend more time finding new clients at forums or freelancing sites. If you’re a small business owner, start creating more joint venture deals or finding new sources of website traffic. To increase your profits, you need to find a way to serve more customers.
3. Create/Outsource more products
Maybe all you need to create more profits is by adding more products to your catalogue. However, there’s some things you need to consider. Will you create the products yourself? Are your products digital or physical in nature? How much will it cost to create a new product? Will this be a loss leader or a high-end product? You need to answer these questions before you venture further.
By acting today, you can start catapulting your profits. On the Internet, it can be relatively easy to double or even triple your profits. But you need to make the decision to take action today!
